| Tickets are bought! 1 month in Europe, flying into Paris. Although my plans for what I want to do once I get there changes daily, for now I am thinking Paris, Bordeaux, Nice (Provence and the French Riviera), and maybe... Italy? Fun!!
Now if I can just get through the BAR.......
| It's less than a month from the bar, and I can't believe how quickly this summer has gone by. It's gone by ALARMINGLY fast. While "the fear" hasn't quite set in yet, and my studying has so far been inconsistent at best, the bar and the LAW are always on my mind. Everywhere I go, the law is there! Some major examples of wuah-wuah-wuahness:
-When I was talking to my (law school) friend about relationships, I asked her what was required for a guy to make a prima facie showing so that she would give him a chance, and not dismiss him on summary judgment.
-For some reason, some friends and I were at dinner talking about coat checks at bars/clubs. I blurted out that a coat check is a type of of a bailment, and you still owned legal title to the coat, so the bar/club bore the risk of loss when the coat was in their possession.
Oh there are plenty more (including my using phrases like "affirmatively defend" and "preponderance of evidence" when talking to V) but I will not further embarass myself and my kind. oh LAW.

I saw this on gawker the other day and thought it was funny how Philly is trying to capitalize on the whole "sixth borough" article in the Times. I mean, I give it credit since I think the ads resonate with some New Yorkers. I remember thinking exactly these things when I decided I didn't want to stay in NY for law school, and sought out greener pastures on the east coast. But the thing is, I think the cliche "absence makes the heart grow fonder" is absolutely true when it comes to NY-- as soon as I left, I loved and appreciated NY SOOO much more. It's like the battered spouse syndrome, just when you think you're safe leaving it behind, it pulls you back and makes you realize you can't ever leave because deep down, for better or for worse, you're really still in love with it.
EDIT: What did happen to the $3 movie theatre? That place was hella ghetto but it sure was cheap... Although back then, tickets were only like $6.50 full price.
In other news, I got in touch with my bestie from London (whom I haven't spoken with in 7 years!!), thanks to wonderful, fabulous google and the internet. I am uber excited because I think I am going to Europe for a month for my post-bar trip, and it will be nice to see him again. Time to relive the spice girls and austin powers (the original of course!)!!!
| I have been ENTHRALLED by the internet sensation matt harding and his new video:

It's true that everyone fanatasizes about quitting their job and traveling the world, but he actually did it. I sometimes contemplate leaving familiarity behind and moving to hawaii or some other exotic place but the responsible asian in me always keeps me back... oh and there are practical things I worry about, like how will I support myself, mosquito bites (mosquites LUURVE me), water purification tablets, and my weak sauce stomache.

| why do you taunt me so? I don't think I can afford this until the fall, but i am totes hearting it... Joy Gryson's (formerly of Marc Jacobs fame) bags are simple and classic yet fun. SO appropriate for work AND sunday brunches!
